In 1957, Elmer Sorensen, a former airline mechanic and avid fisherman founded the company that became Penn Cycle, operating out of the garage behind his house. The business is much larger now, but remains guided by the same customer service principles established more than 50 years ago. Penn Cycle's latest store is now open just 2 blocks from the NSC Velodrome. Stop by and welcome them to the neighborhood.

CARS Bike Shop opened in 1991 as North Suburban Schwinn. The store was purchased in December 2000 and reopened January 1st 2001 as CARS Bike Shop, Ltd. Bruce and Sandy Sherve are the owners. CARS Bike Shop features Giant, GT, Redline, Salsa, Schwinn, Specialized, Sun, and Worksman bicycles and tricycles and Torker unicycles. Sometimes known as a hard shop to find, but always well worth the search.
