Luis De la Fuente Castro – Briar Cliff University (NAIA)
 
After just one season as the Head Coach of the Men’s Soccer program, Luis De la Fuente has been elevated to the position of Director of Soccer for the Chargers. In his new duties, De la Fuente will serve as the leader of both the men and women’s programs. He will be in charge of all recruiting, fundraising, scheduling, instructional and administrative needs for the entire soccer operation at Briar Cliff. He will oversee all aspects of both on and off the field coaching, while serving as the leader of both programs.
“This model of management is becoming more prevalent in collegiate soccer programs,” states Dan McDermott, Executive Director of Athletics. “Luis is a rising star in the coaching ranks, and certainly a very talented and special individual. He is very deserving of this position, and our athletic program will be far better off with Luis at the helm.”
De la Fuente has named a very capable staff to support the goals of bringing more championships back to the program. Assisting on the Women’s side is Associate Head Coach Liam Brandso, while Yan Rosado will be the Associate Head Coach for the Men. Supporting them will be graduate assistants Patrick Wyatt and Hugo Mariage. Bernardo Torres is the assistant coach.
James Price – St. Cloud State University (NCAA D2)
 
James has coaching experience across NCAA Division II, NJCAA Division I, and club soccer. James is currently a Graduate Assistant Coach with St. Cloud State University Men’s Soccer. Previously, he served as Interim Head Coach and Assistant/Goalkeeper Coach at USC Sumter, as well as Technical Director with Sumter Soccer Club.
Jared Rice – Concordia College (NCAA D3)
Jared Rice was named the eighth head coach in the history of the Cobber women’s soccer program in Spring 2025.
Rice played for the Concordia men’s program from 2009-2012 and was named the team’s Most Valuable Player, as well as earning MIAC postseason honors, in his senior season.
Rice started his coaching career as an assistant coach at Concordia in 2015. He has gone on to coach at the high school, club, and Olympic Development levels for 11 years.
Annie Gerdes – Knox College (NCAA D3)
Annie Gerdes returned to Knox in the summer of 2023 to lead the Prairie Fire women’s soccer program. She previously served as an assistant coach in the program from 2019-2022.
Gerdes joined the women’s soccer staff in the summer of 2019 after her career as a goalkeeper for the Prairie Fire. Gerdes played on the ’16, ’17, and ’18 MWC championship teams and assisted in leading the 2019 and 2021 teams to MWC Titles.
In her time as an assistant coach, Gerdes helped coach the women’s soccer team to their fourth and fifth straight Midwest Conference Regular Season Championships. She also coached goalkeepers for the men’s team.
Gerdes was a member of the 2016 women’s soccer team that was inducted into the Knox-Lombard Athletic Hall of Fame in 2022. That team kicked off a run of five dominant years by the program.
In 2022, Gerdes served as a Youth Camp Coach for the Chicago Red Stars and a Youth Head Coach for the Galaxy Soccer Club in Naperville.

Refund Policy: Refunds are not issued for cancelled registrations after the player has been accepted into the program. Cancelled registrations can by a different individual for the 2027 event or transferred to a future NSC ID Combine session. Valid until the 2027 event.

Surcharge Fee: The National Sports Center has instituted a 2% surcharge on all submitted card payments to help cover a portion of the processing fees assessed to the NSC by the card processing companies. Customers can avoid the fee by paying with an e-check with an online registration.

Event Cancellation Policy: The following policy will be enacted IF an event hosted by the National Sports Center MUST be canceled by the directives of the State of Minnesota or the Minnesota Department of Health. Please know that our top priority on making decisions moving forward will be the safety and health of our players, coaches, referees, employees and fans. Participants will receive a refund for your event entry. Team registration refunds will be processed at 100% of the registration total. Refunds will be credited to your account by no later than December 31, 2027. *Please note that if a individual elects to drop prior to the event, the above voucher policy will be in effect. This includes individuals making their own decision to withdraw prior to the potential cancellation. If a customer (club, team, individual) is required to quarantine because they have become sick or exposed to the COVID-19, and are not able to participate for this reason, there will be no refund unless done within the parameters of the existing policy for refunds.
