Drumroll please … Today’s Faces of the CUP is none other than the National Sports Center’s incredible Volunteer and Registration Intern, Sam Lackmann! This is Sam’s first Target USA CUP, and she’s crushing it. The Volunteer and Registration intern has a tough job. This person is in charge of gathering hundreds of volunteers for the duration of USA CUP. Sam has spent all summer preparing for this tournament, and we appreciate her dedication!
Volunteers are necessary for the success of USA CUP. They help make sure that the tournament runs smoothly. Sam mentioned that she is appreciative of all of the hard work that volunteers do because they make sure that the athletes and their families have an enjoyable experience at USA CUP. “Volunteers continue to come back year after year and always have positive things to say about their experience,” Sam explained. “It’s really fun, and the volunteers are a great group of people.” Plus, volunteers receive a multitude of free shirts, and who doesn’t love USA CUP swag?
Why should people volunteer at USA CUP?
“Volunteering is a great way to give back, especially if you have been involved in USA CUP previously.”
What’s your favorite part about USA CUP?
“You get to meet a bunch of people. Being able to talk to people from across the world has been an incredible experience for me. I also love hanging out with the other interns and helping them out in any way that I can!”
At the end of the interview, legendary volunteer Mike Rolfes asked Sam if she would ever be a volunteer in the future. “Yes! I would because I know how hard it is to get volunteers,” Sam remarked and laughed.
Thank you, Sam, for all of your hard work!
