Introducing today’s Faces of the Cup: Field Services! You can spot this great group in the field services tent to the left of the Welcome Center checking in our numerous volunteers for Target USA CUP.
Learn More About Field Services:
According to Cooksey, the group has been around for about 64 years, but nobody knows exactly how long! Field Services main roles include setting up fields early in the morning, keep fields supplied, give rides and breaks to volunteer field managers, and picking up fields at the end of the day.
Heather Plante’s favorite part of USA CUP is hanging out on campus and spending time with her “other” family!
This week, many of the field service members are looking forward to eating Shelly’s baked goods that she brings every year! They are also excited to hang out with one another, watch some soccer, and overall have a good time.
Some words of wisdom from field services to all participants of Target USA CUP: “Enjoy every minute because it goes by really fast!”
What’s With the Meerkat’s?
When you head over to the field services tent, you may notice the meerkat’s scattered throughout the area. So, I went ahead and asked what was so special about this tradition.
Sarah explained that they have been the field services mascot since 2015. Originally, a meerkat was meant to be a photo bomb in only one picture that year. For some reason, it just stuck! The meerkat collection has been growing since!
Intern Devon Haraldson
Each year, Target USA CUP has a Volunteer/ Field Services intern, this year it is Devon Haraldson. Devon brings great energy to the tent and had no problem joining the field services family.
Devon say, “The level of energy at 5:30 in the morning is unbeatable. We thrive from sunrise to sunset with the best customer service imaginable.”
Thank you to Field Services and Devon! Running the tournament would be impossible without all of your help! Stay tuned for our next Face of the Cup!
