Caroline Skoog is the National Sports Center’s fantastic Multimedia Content Creator. This is her first Target USA CUP, and she’s knocking it out of the park. Caroline has a lot on her plate as the USA CUP Content Director, and she’s the reason why the USA CUP media team has been able to produce a variety of high-quality content.
Since it’s Caroline’s first USA CUP, in order to prepare, she reviewed content from previous USA CUP tournaments and created an impressive content plan that built on what was done in years prior. In the months leading up to the tournament, Caroline devoted a few hours a day to brainstorming and planning content. During the month before the tournament, content planning was all that she did. In addition to content planning, Caroline focused on building the USA CUP media team, discovering everyone’s strengths, and figuring out how those strengths fit into USA CUP coverage.
During USA CUP, Caroline’s daily schedule is “chaos.” In the morning, she handles all sorts of questions, does a lot of problem solving, monitors the social channels, and goes out to get scheduled and spontaneous content. She also runs the media team’s morning meetings. These meetings ensure that everyone is on track and knows their responsibilities for the day. Caroline truly does it all!
Today is the last day of USA CUP, so to close out the interview, I asked Caroline what her favorite part about USA CUP was. She responded, “Working on a team with all of the USA CUP staff and embracing the long hours and giving this tournament our all. Also seeing the joy that players experience when they’re here. It’s so much more than just a soccer tournament and being able to be a part of that growth in making it more than just a soccer tournament is really exciting for me.”
Thank you, Caroline, for all that you’ve done during USA CUP!
