Welcome back for another Target USA CUP team feature! Our next team is Blindheim II J 2007 Girls traveling all the way from Norway as a team selected from the partnership we have with Norway Cup!

What is your team most looking forward to at Target USA CUP?

“We look most forward to meeting new teams to play against and also to meet new people from outside Norway.”

How many players will be coming to Target USA CUP 2023 and how have you prepared?

“We are 18 players participating at [Target USA CUP]. Almost half of the players have their families coming over to watch the games and to travel a bit around afterwards. During the season we have worked hard both with training and also doing different tasks – in Norwegian called ‘dugnad’ – to earn money for our trip.”

What makes your team stand out from other teams?

“Our soccer club, Blindheim Idrettslag, is known for having good girls teams playing football with lots of passes and a good line up.”

Does your team believe in luck? If so, how do they bring about “good luck”?

We don’t rely on luck, just on hard work. And as our coach says; “The Devil is in the details.”

How would you describe your club’s style of play? If you had to compare your team to a pro team, what would it be?

“We like to compare our team and the way we play with Barcelona.”

Does your team have a favorite memory?

“Our team have lots of good memories from different cups were we have participated. Especially Lillehammer in January 2020 were we played indoor and also in Førde in november 2021 when we finally were allowed to play a cup again after the pandemic.”

What is one thing you would like to do while you are in Minnesota outside of playing soccer?

“We will visit Mall of America and maybe Bunker Beach or the Valley Fair. We also look forward to pin trading and to get to meet a local team for scrimmage and picnic.”

Target USA CUP is thrilled to have these skilled girls from Norway compete for the Cup! Be on the look out for our next featured team as Target USA CUP is only a few days away!
