Introducing Corinthians Academy from Brazil! Corinthians Academy was founded in 1910, and since then, it has become an extremely successful soccer club with millions of fans in Brazil and around the world. This FC has over 20 teams, and the boys U12 team came to USA CUP weekend to showcase their skills. Eduardo Prada, supervisor of the boys U12 team expressed that they wanted to bring more teams, but the pandemic made it difficult to get visas to travel.
This is Corinthians Academy’s first USA CUP. Kayan, a player from the boys U12 team, said that he was most excited “to play with my team and win the tournament.” Kayan was right! During the weekend tournament, the team gave it their all and ended as champions. They won their final game on Sunday against Keliix Intra. It was a close and intense game, but Corinthians Academy came out on top with a final score of 2-1.
Prada explained that this team has incredible comradery which contributes to their success. “They play for the team, not as individuals. They work well as a team and always help each other.” Before games, they have a big team meal and pray together. Prada mentioned that the boys love being in each other’s company, and in their free time, you can see them playing 3v3 or practicing their skills.
I was able to watch this team in action on Friday during their game against Villareal Nebraska Academy. Check out some of the photos from the game below:
We are looking forward to seeing the boys U12 team compete during the weeklong tournament and Corinthians Academy returning to 2023 USA CUP with even more teams!
