Happy Motivation Monday!
For Motivation Monday this week, we are reflecting on Pride Month as the end of June is soon approaching. At NSC, we strive to celebrate and appreciate all LGBTQIA+ athletes, coaches, parents, staff, and supporters. We want to take this opportunity to recognize these individuals as we, within the NSC campus and community, find great motivation from their strength and bravery.
In January of 2020, the initiative Play 4 All was introduced. Designed to foster an inclusive environment and celebrate opportunity and achievement in sport across all communities, Play 4 All focuses on the four principles of opportunity, inclusion, respect, and teamwork. In relation to Pride Month, we wanted to take the time to bring light to the initiative and highlight the importance of inclusion and respect within youth sports specific to fostering safe spaces and communities. These spaces are on and off the field; before, during, and after games; inside and outside of our facilities. All athletes should be able to obtain the benefits of sports, activity, and recreation—benefits that reach past physical activity—to the support of mental health and experience of connection and community.
